All around you are invitations to invoke wonder - a private fresh water swimming hole with paddleboards and lounge chairs at your disposal, baby goats bleating their joyful greetings, bicycles with baskets leaning against the post ready for adventure, sunflowers 6ft+ tall growing in the gardens, and peacocks strolling across the lawn to rest in the shade under a fig tree.

You feel vibrant and energized after a daily movement & meditation practice under old growth pines followed by a beach picnic and swim in the ocean. That evening you gather with your retreat community at a long outdoor table showcasing an array of colorful nourishing foods sourced from the land you’re walking upon. After lively conversation, laughter, music and a toast to celebrate the final summer days, you lounge on a palette of blankets to stargaze at the brilliant night sky.

Cocoon encourages renting cars to explore the nearby towns and beaches. We will have 2 vans available for excursions throughout the retreat and will be providing transfer from the airport at designated times. If you plan to explore beyond the local area, we recommend you rent a car during your stay.

Cocoon Portugal is a 275 acre coastal farm + retreat, that offers simplicity, tranquility, and pure magic. This majestic farm is situated on the Atlantic coast of Portugal, near the charming fishing village of Zambujiera del Mar, in the Alentejo region, which is known for its long stretches of untouched coastline and charming white-washed villages. From Lisbon, it's about two hours drive south. It’s 10 minutes drive away from Praia do Malhao, a fabulous untouched beach. Many of the nearby beaches are good for surfing, kayaking, swimming or sunbathing. There's also world-class hiking on the famed Costa Vicentina trail and secret swimming holes where you can take a refreshing dip. The charming seafront village of Vila Nova de Milfontes is also just 10 minutes drive away.
